Golden Triangle Tour: How Many Days Do You Actually Need?
The Golden Triangle (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) can be done in as few as 3 days or stretched to 7+ — here's how to decide what fits your trip.
The minimum: 4 days
This covers a focused visit — one full day in Delhi, a dedicated day for Agra and the Taj Mahal, and a day and a half in Jaipur. It works, but sightseeing feels rushed, especially in Delhi.
The comfortable option: 5-6 days
This adds breathing room — a proper two days in Delhi covering both Old and New Delhi, unhurried time at the Taj Mahal (including an early sunrise visit), and two full days in Jaipur to see the forts without racing the clock.
Extending further: 7+ days
Worth considering if you want to add Fatehpur Sikri as more than a quick stop, or extend into Rajasthan proper with Udaipur or Jodhpur added to the circuit.
Our recommendation
For a first visit to India's heritage circuit, 5-6 days is the sweet spot — enough time to actually enjoy each stop without an itinerary so packed it becomes exhausting.
